Flat but Hot

My quads and glutes are sore. Unbelievably sore. They feel like I just ran a marathon. This is what I get for doing 80 full squats, running stairs, forward and backward walking lunges and THEN running in the park in the afternoon. Yesterday was my rest day. Alot of good it did. NOT!

This morning I dragged my sore quads and glutes out of bed and put my feet in the Pearl Izumi Shines and got ready for my run. Sarah had her last ballet class at 11:00 so I planned to run on Eastern Ave. A nice flat 8 miler. 77 degrees and sunny. It felt like 87.

I started out quick. Its an out and back so my goal was to run out four in under 40 minutes to prepare for a 4 mile race I'm doing on June 30 (Hyde Park Blast). I made it with no problem in 38 minutes. I think I can pull off 35 minutes for the race. On the back four, I just took it easy, hoping to finish the run in 80 minutes. Goal accomplished.

11:23 (a REALLY long traffic light)

Tomorrow I'm looking forward to a long bikeride with a friend. Maybe I'll run, maybe I won't. No biggie.
