5 down

Today started at the gym. I warmed up on the bike for 20 minutes, did some stretches, then
Single leg band squats 3x10,10
Leg scissors - 3x20 SS pushups 3x10
Cross plyo box step-ups 3x30 SS jumprope 3x130, 150, 100 (3rd set alt. feet)
Seated row alt (20.5) 3x15 SS wall sits 3x1:00
abs (knee slides, leg raises)

As I was leaving the gym, one of the trainers said, "Well, you're finished for the day!" and I said, "nope. 5 miles left to go."

There was a detour on the way home, so I had to drive the route that is 4 miles from the gym to my house (instead of 2). I was thinking "jeez, this is a really long street. Oh, my, it's taking a long time to get home on this detour." Then I realized that I was driving half of my running route. The one that I was going to do today. How's that for reverse motivation?? If it seems long in the car, you know what it will seem like when you run it.

I managed 5.5 in 51:49. Six seconds slower than I ran the same route last Tuesday as a tempo run. Today, however, I didn't use the Garmin.

5 down; 45 to go.

I am totally against driving the routes I run, then I know how far they are...not that I don't know how far they are, but I get it from a more normal perspective and it seems too far.
